An incomplete cast copper alloy Medieval annular buckle. The frame is circular with no restriction for the pin. The pin is rectangular in section and looped over the frame. The pin bends away from the frame at its end, where there is an old break. The buckle has a dark green patina, but is in good condition. It measures 36.6 mm DIA and weighs 9.6 g. A similar buckle can be seen on the database LIN-60F048

An incomplete Roman cast copper-alloy plate-headed T-shaped brooch (75-200 AD). The majority of the head and catch-plate are missing. The pin is also missing. The lower surviving part of the head-plate is flat at the front and rear. At the front there are two incomplete stamped rings at the edge of the break. At the rear of the plate the fully enclosed tubular cast wings contain an iron axis bar. The wings have an off-centre slot at the rear that accommodated the missing pin. A complete cast copper alloy Medieval pin. The pin has a round biconical head with a thin median band. There is a thick collar between the head and the shaft, which tapers towards a point. Although complete, the shaft does bend at approximately a 45 degree angle at about 3/4 of the way down the shaft. The pin is corroded but in good condition. It measures 59.4 mm L x 10.6 mm DIA and weighs 3.2 g. A similar pin can be seen on the database SUSS-3BD453

A small flake of grey brown flint with opaque cream inclusions. The proximal end has been obliquely terminated. There are fine bladelet removals on the proximal dorsal surface .The left lateral margin is flat and shallowly retouched near the distal tip. The opposite ventral margin is also retouched but more finely.The mesal part of the right dorsal margin is semi-abruptly and abruptly blunted as a concave edge; perhaps as a blunted finger grip for using the tool as piercer or awl. Mercer(1981) illustrates a piercer on page 135, fig 59, L152.
