Scabbard chape of sheet copper alloy dating to the 14th century. It is broadly triangular in plan with a bi-lobed end at the widest part which is open and a rounded closed end. The front and back plate are bent out in the centre to produce an oval cavity in which the scabbard and sword would have sat. It is beginning to come apart at the seam where it is sealed along one side producing a 23.2mm in length split. It measures 54.5mm in height, 26.9mm in width at the open bi-lobed end and 11.3mm at the closed end, the metal is 0.8mm in thickness and the chape weighs 7.82g. A similar exa…

A copper-alloy bar/strap type mount, dating from the Medieval period. The central portion of the mount is rectangular, of trapezoidal section and curves upwards at the centre. The terminal is separated from the central portion by a transverse ridge. It has a central rivet hole and sides which flare towards a scalloped outer edge. Only part of the other terminal remains, the surviving portion suggesting its form was similar to that of the intact one. The mount measures 33.1mm long, 8.2mm wide, 1.4mm thick and weighs 2g.

Iron age pestle fragment?, 31mm long and 6mm and 5mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 3.04grams. The object is sub circular in section and linear in form. It is slightly curved and at one end widens out before tapering to a point. The object is probably a very corroded Pestle from a cosmetic set, its form is very similar to one of the cover of Jackson, R. 'Cosmetic sets of late Iron age and Roman Britain' type 286b?

This has an oval face with a long pointed nose, either side are incised triangles that represent eyes. Cast copper alloy Roman furniture fitting diameter 18mm, thickness 9mm, weight 5.97g. The object is a solid cast conical-shaped knob. The base of the cone (which would be the forward edge) has a dished middle, the border is thick with a double pellet border. The top of the cone is truncated, there is trace of a rectangular socket at the top that is surrounded by iron corrosion, this is that remains of the pin. This type of fitting is known from the 1st to the 4th century.

The pendant is shield shaped with a horse rampant on the face, the horse is detailed with white enamel on a gold field. At the top of the shield is a loop for suspension with the remains of the suspension mount at the top. This artefacts dates to the late 13th - 14th century.
