Cast lead two-disc woollen cloth seal of Elizabeth I (1558-1603). The devices consist of: arms of England, E R to sides, S'VLII PAO VIALLE LON' ('seal of [saleable] cloths in London') around the arms on the obverse and on the reverse, part of a ridged cross with a sword in the first quarter (arms of London) within an ornate shield, surrounded by the remains of the legend: LONDINI [PRO PANNIS LANICIS date] ('at London for woollen cloths'). These seem to be the only English seals of any date to specify woollen cloths (Egan, 1994, 41). Egan (1994) illustrates a similar example on page …

Cast copper alloy double-loop, trapezoidal buckle with ornate moulded outer edges consisting of two outer lobes and a pointed front in the shape of a trefoil. The pointed centre of the edge of each loop is engraved with a notch, for the pin to rest on, but the pin is now missing. There is a slight step, rather than a bevel, around the outer edge of the two sides of the frame, making it sub-square in section. The narrowed strap bar has two lobed protrusions, triangular in plan, one at either end. The surface colour and corrosion suggests that the frame was probably tinned originally. …

Cast copper alloy double-looped oval buckle, plano-convex in section, with slight bilobed frame and two moulded transverse ridges on the outer edge of each loop. These parallel ridges each define a lobe which projects from the edge of the frame, and would have acted as pin rests on both sides, but the pin is now missing. There is also a lobed knop at one end of the strap bar which is narrowed but flush with the frame. Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar example on page 61, No.362, which is dated from c.1550-1650.

A fragment from the rim of a sheet copper-alloy vessel of probable Post-Medieval date. It is roughly rectangular in form, flat, and terminatng in old breaks at its base and both ends. It has suffered from some post-depositional damage and has traces of sooting or burning in places. The fragment measures 37.72mm in length, 22.42mm in height, 0.83mm in thickness, and 3.11g in weight. It is likely to be a fragment from a vessel of Post-Medieval date, perhaps c.1500-1700 AD, although an earlier date cannot be ruled out entirely.

Two iron balls which may be cannon balls. They are each about 2 inches in diameter and weigh about 1.5 pounds. This makes them the right size and weight to have been used in Falconet cannon. A Falconet was a small cannon used both on land and in light naval vessels. A number were used during the English Civil War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falconet_(cannon) ). They date from about 1500 - 1700 AD. The cannon balls have been coated with a preservative.

A cast copper-alloy leg from a cooking vessel of Medieval to Post-Medieval date. It is triangular in section, tapering towards the foot, which is triangular in form and seemingly undecorated. At the top the leg terminates in old breaks where it joins the floor of the vessel, the entire object having traces of a dark green patina, some sooting and copper-alloy corrosive products. It measures 71.41mm in length, 20.96mm in width, 14.99mm in thickness, and weighs 50.37g. This vessel leg is probably from a cooking vessel of Medieval or later date, perhaps dating to between c.1400-1700 AD.

Post medieval cast copper alloy foot from a cooking vessel. It is roughly D-shaped in section, with flattened reverse and three ribs running down the convex front. The terminal is of the 'seal-top' type with a flat, oval top which appears sub-triangular due to slight projecting knops at three points around the edge, it is not clear if the projection is due to the rest of the edge wearing around them.
