Flint thumbnail scraper, plano-convex in plan, profile and section, with unifacial retouch on the right margin from the proximal end to the distal end of the dorsal face. The left margin is still covered by a rough layer of cortex. The colour of the flint is a mottled light brown to dark grey, and the colour and texture of the cortex remaining on the left margin, suggests the that the flake was derived from a local beach pebble. Bond (2004) illustrates similar thumbnail scrapers on pages 57 & 147, Figs.5.26 & 5.133, Nos.F36 & F168 which are dated from the Late Neolithic to the Ear…

A complete copper-alloy strap fitting of Post-medieval date. the fitting is a S-shaped belt fastener. The terminals of the S are moulded into the shape of zoomorphic heads, probably intended to be swans, below this are depictions of feathers running down the neck. The mid-point of the S is decorated with two raised linear bands with floriate design to either side. The strap fitting is 40.4mm in length, 18.05mm in width, 6.95mm thick and weighs 15 grams.
