Cast copper alloy disc brooch of Roman date (80-250 AD). The brooch is broadly circular in plan. The front face is slightly relatively flat with a raised cast design and central cast hole (diameter: 1.9mm). Little remains of the upper surface due to corrosion and abrasion. The deign seems be centred on concentric raised circular panels, the outer possibly being a wreath. Presumably through the central hole a projecting rosette or similar applied ornament was fitted. A sheet copper-alloy hook-piece from a post-medieval book-clasp dating from the 17th century AD. It is sub-rectangular in shape with a flared end and the opposing end terminating in a narrowed, curved hook (5.66mm wide). At the flared end, the plate divides into two parts separated by a V shaped groove. Each terminal is bi-lobate and has a single circular rivet hole in the lobe nearest the groove. A folded post-Medieval lead alloy weight (c. 1600-c. 1850). This rolled strip has been deliberately folded three and a half times. At one side there are three indentations that penetrate the strip. The outside of the strip has a number of indeterminate impressions of triangular form. Length: 19.9mm; width: 16.6mm; thickness: 16.2mm. Weight: 22.85g. The thickness of the strip is about 1.4mm. The surface colour is grey with off-white lead corrosion products.

Cast copper alloy ring of probable Roman - Modern date (50 - 1800). The ring was originally circular in plan but is now distorted to an irregular oval; it is lentoid (hexagonal) in cross section. There is no obvious cast or incised decoration present. The ring is a light - mid greenish grey colour with a well developed patina which covers all surfaces. The patination of the metal would suggest a Medieval or later date. The function of the ring is varied (sacking ring, curtain ring etc) and although it is worn a direct use cannot be attributed. Two fragments of copper alloy casting waste / mis-cast debris of uncertain date. Associated crop marks and finds suggest a Roman date. The larger piece of debris has a small recatngular depression, very similar to that seen on catch-plates of Roman brooches. The smaller piece is almost a copper alloy cover formed from a piece of sheet metal which has been wrapped around somthing larger. Direct parralells for either piece have not been found. The fragmenst have a joint weight of 13.56 grams They measure: 1. 34.2mm length, 15.7mm width, is 5.7mm thick and weighs 7.32 grams…

A copper alloy object, possible a box clasp from an item of jewellery, probably a multi strand necklace. The object is a rectangular box with a flange projecting from one long edge. The flange is perforated with six small circular holes. The other long edge has an opening into which a catch piece is inserted.
