Cast copper alloy fragment of a strap fitting of probable later medieval or post-medieval date (1350-1700). The strap fitting is lozenge (diamond shaped) in plan. The upper face is domed (convex) in profile and D shaped in cross-section; the edges are bevelled. There is no evidence of cast or incised decoration on either the front or reverse of the fitting; however, this may be due to heavy corrosion. An incomplete cast copper alloy strap fitting of probable Post Medieval date (c1550-c1700 AD. The plate is broadly sub rectangular in plan with expanded rounded terminals. In cross section it is rectangular, and the edges are slightly facetted/ bevelled. On the upper edge of one end is a pointed knop. The knop at the lower end is slightly rounded and may be broken. The front face is decorated with a cast and incised design consisting of debased foliate C shaped scrolls forming an interlaced design (possibly a heart each with a fleur-de-lis within) at the mid point. A cast copper alloy sub rectangular strap plate (probably dating from the 14th Century AD). The design comprises a series of punched dots, creating crude circles and crescents and the method employed has resulted in a mild raised impression on the reverse. There is a single rivet hole at one end, located in the middle of the circle design. A corner next to the open rivet hole has been bent forward. The surviving rivet is located a the opposite end.
