A cast copper alloy buckle of probably 18th century date. It is a rectangular frame with holes for a separate spindle which is missing, along with the plate and pin. Corrosion suggests the spindle was iron. The frame is slightly arched but is not otherwise decorated. Compare number 665 and 676 in Whitehead's Buckles.

An incomplete Medieval to post-Medieval cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle (c. 1350-c. 1650). The frame is convex at the front and flat at the rear. Each loop is oval in plan and similar in size and each loop is slightly bevelled at the front on its inner edge. The central bar is 'D'-shaped in cross-section and the pin is missing. This buckle has no patina but has traces of black lacquer. 41.0 x 33.0 x 3.8mm. Weight: 10.71g. A similar buckle has been published and dated c. 1350-1650 (Whitehead 1996: 53, ref: 294).

An incomplete Medieval to post-Medieval cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle (c. 1350-c. 1650). The frame is convex at the front and flat at the rear. Each loop is oval in plan and similar in size. The central bar is 'D'-shaped in cross-section and the pin is missing. Iron staining can be seen at the centre of the bar on both faces. This buckle has a mid-green patina. 30.9 x 26.3 x 2.3mm. Weight: 3.96g. A similar buckle has been published and dated c. 1350-1650 (Whitehead 1996: 53, ref: 294).
