A limestone millstone, incomplete and probably dating to the Roman period. The millstone has a raised, almost domed, central perforation and a worked upper suface; the surface is still quite rough suggesting that the stone experienced minimal usage (if any) as continuous grinding would result in areas of the stone being smooth. The underside of the stone is very rough and has had minimal working.
