A bent copper-alloy strip brooch of 1st century date. The brooch is of light construction. The upper edge of the headplate has been rolled backwards, creating a cylinder for the iron axis bar. The cast front plate of a copper alloy composite scabbard chape, probably Post Medieval in date. A silver denarius of Sabina struck during the period AD 128 to 137 AD. IVNONI REGINAE reverse. Rome mint. RIC Vol II, p. 386 ref: 395a. There appears to be a flaw in the die used for the obverse of this coin. This result in a circular/crescental feature to the right of the bust. The form of the 'STA' in the legend SABINA AVGVSTA is also odd.

An incomplete, snapped, cast copper-alloy pin head of Roman or possible early Medieval date (50-1000 AD). It is most likely that this is a hairpin; however, due to the fact that pins can be used for multiple tasks it is difficult to attribute function. The pin is snapped at the junction between the head and shaft. The head is broadly circular in plan and oval in profile. It is cast in one-piece. On the top of the head is a small depression, enclosed with a slight annulet ridge. Around the mid point of the head is a circumferential recessed groove, below this the lower part is decorate…
