A side of a set of antlers, broken off just above the skull and comprising two tines. Shows signs of wear/use comprising two fairly flat facets on one side that define more or less the same plane of wear. Two other minor wear surfaces exist: one at the tip of the main tine and the other halfway along the smaller one. These do not seem to be associated. The smaller tine also appears somewhat polished. The antler is cracked/split in places and the internal fine porous bone structure is visible at the broken off end and revealed by the heavy wear on the main tine. Apparently found associ…

An incomplete cast copper-alloy object, possibly a fragment from the bow of a Roman bow brooch. It is oval shaped in section, terminating at both ends in old breaks, and has a moulded vertical rib flanked by grooves on the front face. The fragment has worn surfaces with traces of a green patina and measures 21.42mm in length, 4.53mm in width, 3.97mm in thickness, and 2.19g in weight. This is possibly a fragment from the bow of a Roman brooch, although its poor preservation and small size make a close identification probematic. If it is indeed Roman then it is of probably 1st to 2nd …

A cast copper-alloy fragment, a terminal from a larger artefact plausibly Roman in date. The small fragment is a terminal loop of rectangular cross-section with rounded corners. It narrows slightly to a rounded (slightly faceted) end, perforated just in from the tip. On one side, aligned to the hole is a removal that runs along the side from that point on. This gives the terminal a notched effect. The point of break reveals that the damage was caused in the past, occurring when the original object was bent at this point. The fragment has a mid-green patina. This, the object's f…
