A late Medieval to early Post Medieval cast copper alloy thimble with sloping sides and slightly domed top. A continuous spiral of hand-drilled circular pits emanate from a bare tonsure at the centre of the top; the pits cover the entire external surface save for a narrow plain band at the base. The pits get slightly smaller towards the top. The thimble has been cast from one piece and does not have a thicker or turned over rim at its base.
