A silver mount of late Anglo-Saxon (probably 11th century) date. The mount is rectangular in plan and the front is convex. One end is broken. It has an openwork design, the holes having been cut after casting the thick plate; some holes remain as uncut recesses. The design is hard to read, but a backward-facing animal can be seen together with some interlace which may have zoomorphic elements.
