Late Saxon cast, copper alloy stirrup terminal. Of zoomorphic design, this terminal would have completely enclosed the joint of the base and one arm on the lower part of a stirrup. It is in the form of a crested animal head which is curled around so that it faces up the stirrup arm and forms a circular aperture. The animal head has a pointed snout and lentoid knops for eyes. The crest is decorated with grooves. The main body of the mount is hollow,D-sectioned and is filled with corrosion product from the missing iron sturrup.
