A incomplete cast, copper-alloy Hod Hill type brooch dating to the mid to late first century AD.The brooch has lost the lower half of the bow,and the pin is missing. The head of the brooch has been rolled forward to form hollow cylindrical wings which would have held the axis bar in place.There is a cut-out in the centre of the wings which would have allowed the pin to pivot on the axis bar.The top of the bow has three transverse ribs,from which point, it tapers down towards the point of break.Length 23.7mm,width 13.6mm and it weighs 2.5g. The brooch has a grey/green patina.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman dolphin brooch dating to the late first or early second century AD. The head of the brooch comprises cylindrical wings which would originally have held the axis bar and pin in place. Both bar and pin are now missing. There is a butted seam along the reverse of the wing casing and there is a vertical slot in the centre for the hinged pin. Each wing terminal is decorated with a slight vertical groove. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Colchester one-piece brooch. AD43-AD70. Length 38.3mm, width 14mm, and it weighs 6.8g. Approximately 2/3rds of the spring remain,(5 turns),and is secured to the bow by a rearward hook. There are two short wings in front of the spring. The bow is D shaped caused by a blow to its inside curve just above the catchplate, and it has no decoration. The catchplate is damaged, and has a square perforation, and it is evident that there were at least two others.The brooch has a dark brown patina. See also BH-9DD3B1.

A complete copper alloy double looped post medieval buckle frame with serrated edge, oval in shape and slightly pointed at each end. There are four round holes in the frame, one at each end and one above and below the strap bar. The length is 43.6mm, width 25.8mm and 1.5 thickmm. The buckle frame weighs 4.15g and is in good condition. It dates from 1550 to 1660.

Flint thumbnail scraper, oval in plan, and plano-convex in profile and section. The scraper has been unifacially retouched at the distal end and the lateral margins of the dorsal face. The proximal end has been snapped off above the bulb of percussion, but there are still concentric ripples from this point on the ventral face. The flint is a translucent dark grey to black and was likely derived from an area such as Beer Head in Devon. A Medieval copper alloy single-loop buckle with attached plate. The buckle is "D"- shaped with a short 8mm moulded projection on the extremity of the loop opposite the strap bar. Where the projection joins the strap bar there is a chevron that faces back towards the plate. The end of the projection has a shallow groove around it and this combined with the chevron gives a zoomorphic animal head appearance. A copper-alloy medieval strap end. Comprising of two sheets of bronze, the lower sheet has a boxed edge and lip at the pointed end and the upper plate of bronze is secured to the other by two bronze rivets - centrally located front and rear of each plate. One of the rivets has prised apart from the other plate, the second rivet is secure. There is a trace of leather sandwiched in the strap end.

A worn and incomplete Roman Polden Hill type bow brooch of the first to second century AD. The brooch has open semi-cylindrical wings and semi circular mouldings on the bow, just below the head, making identification of type possible. The pin mechanism is entirely missing, as is the lower part of the bow. The brooch measures 28.61 mm across the wings, 17.5 mm thick from the back of the bow to the wings, and is 23.81 mm long. It weighs 11.4 grams. It has a dark green to black patina and has been conserved with preservative wax.
