The buckle is made from cast copper. Originally the buckle was probably a double loop type, but only a portion of one loop remains. The breaks on the frame are not recent. The remaining loop has a central moulded lozenge within a 'V' shape and a smaller, similar, design at the corners of the loop. The reverse of the buckle is undecorated and flat. The surface of the buckle is slightly abraded and has a incomplete shiny dark green patina. It measures 27.43mm long and 36.65mm wide. It weighs 4.8g. A cast copper alloy rotary key. The handle/bow is a 'D' shape in plan with two spurs on the internal vertical edge. The stem protrudes from the mid point of the vertical edge of the bow. The stem has a moulded collar which is decorated with a single transverse groove. The stem, after the collar, is narrowed and solid. The bit is an off-set vertical rectangle in plan. The surface has a dark grey patina. In length, from the handle to the terminal of the stem it is 32.77mm, and the widest point is the handle which is 15.73mm wide. A cast copper alloy Roman brooch, a Colchester derivative which is probably a T-shaped type. The brooch is incomplete. The wings are cylindircal, and has a central slot on the reverse to allow the spring to coiled around the axis bar within the wings.
