An incomplete Late Early-Medieval (1000-1200) copper alloy buckle frame with integral plate, missing the (iron) pin and an uncertain amount of integral plate. It measures 41.25mm in length, 27.72mm in max.width and 7.90mm in max.thickness (the iron corrosion from the pin). It weighs 9.37g. The frame is D-shaped, but with an extended, triangular outer edge from which a zoomorphic head projects. A fragment of Roman copper alloy buckle frame, probably Hawkes & Dunning type IIA (1961, fig.17-18). It consists of part of one side of the frame with a zoomorphic protrusion to the side and a zoomorphic projection beyond the frame, from which extends a broken loop (which would have held the axis bar). The fragment measures 34.28x23.10x4.26mm and weighs 6.2g. The frame is decorated with a single line of punched dots. A fragment of a Late Roman copper-alloy bracelet. The piece represents the terminal end from a penannular bracelet. It has been made from a parallel-sided strip of thin section. The terminal itself has a vertical end there is a circular hole at its centre, by which the two ends of the bracelet could have been tied together. A cast copper-alloy artefact which represents the 'eye' half of a post-Medieval 'hooked-clasp and eye' fitting. The piece consists of a sub-lozengiform plate. A copper-alloy double-oval buckle of probable Late Medieval to early post-Medieval date. The symmetrical frame has two 'D-shaped' sides. The central axis bar is obscured by a sheet-metal plate, which is bent double around it, its ends held together by a single copper-alloy rivet. The wire pin protrudes from a central slit in this plate, its point resting on the frame. The buckle has steep inner edges, the upper surfaces slope downwards and outwards and the underside is flat. Cast copper alloy plate brooch dating to the Roman period, (43-410AD). The object is lozenge shaped in plan. The outer edge is raised and the central plate recessed, probably to contain enamel. In the centre of the object is a circular perforation. The object has a rounded lug at each point. The object is a hinged example. On the reverse is a damaged lug for the hinge and a catchplate which is also damaged. The object is badly corroded and one lug has been bent upwards. It has a mid green patina and is in poor condition. The object can be dated to the second century AD.
