A possible incomplete cast copper alloy strap fitting. The strap fitting is formed of an incomplete figure of eight loop with a possible third loop at the base, which is only indicated by two broken terminals. The three loops appear to have been cast in one piece. The complete loop has what may be a casting imperfection on the interior edge. The object has an abraded surface. It measures 34.82mm long, 19.43mm wide, 7.03mm thick and weighs 9.1g.

A sprung dolphin brooch dating to the early Roman period. The brooch has undecorated semi-cylindrical wings; the spring and pin are missing. There is the remains of a rearward hook in the centre of the wings on the reverse. The bow is comma shaped in profile and oval in cross-section, tapering to a pointed foot. The catchplate is missing.

Rimsherd. Pale sandy grey fabric; Greyware. The markedly flared rim of a wide bowl of estimated diameter 310mm. Though perhaps resembling a mortarium in its form, there is no trace of internal grit. Suggested date: Roman, 100-300. Sandra Firth kindly examined this sherd.
