A Roman copper alloy brooch. A trumpet-headed ‘fly’ type with a trumpet-shaped head and the leg in the form of fly's wings. An insect head acts as a foot knob. The 'wings' are have two panels, both of which contain red enamel inlay. There are traces of tinning. The pin is missing. The brooch dates to circa 2nd century AD. It is 29mm long. A Roman copper alloy brooch. A composite plate brooch with a lozenge-shaped central panel. Either end of the central panel is a cross bar. One terminal is a crescent with dark coloured enamelling.  The other terminal is a zoomorphic head. The central lozenge contains  white enamelling (mostly lost). The brooch dates to circa 2nd century AD. It is 49mm long. No exact parallels can be found in Hattatt. The closest type is no. 1125 on Fig. 66 of Hattatt, 1987 'Brooches of Antiquity'.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Medieval/ Post-Medieval (1200-1800) vessel leg from a ewer or skillet. The top of the leg is missing (old break). The surviving leg measures 82.03mm in length, 25.45mm in max.width and 15.89mm in max.thickness. It weighs 145.73g. The leg is triangular in section with a slight hollowing running the length of the reverse and to the front a moulded central rib. At the break the leg measures 23.49x15.79mm. A Roman copper alloy brooch.  Lozenge-shaped central panel with four circular apertures. The central panel is borderedby a groove. There is a zoomorphic terminal with crescental scales and indented dot and circle eyes. It is not clear if there is another terminal at the other end which has bent back. Acopper-alloy frame from a Medieval (13th to 14th century) single-loop buckle. The frame is roughly 'D-shaped', with curved top and bottom sides and a vertical, expanded pin rest. This pin rest has two segments with convex surfaces, plus an angled knop at the top and bottom. Grooves and ridges separate the various elements. The wire pin is looped around the offset axis bar. The buckle is heavily corroded. It measures 17.9mm long, 22.9mm wide and 4.3mm thick. The weight is 2.94g.

A corroded copper-alloy book clasp of probable Late Medieval to early post-Medieval date. The surviving element consists of a parallel-sided, sub-rectangular plate with a short hook projecting from the base. The top edge has been decoratively cut and the upper surface bears moulded bands (heavily corroded) of cast decoration. There is one original rivet hole, located just below the centre point of the top side. In addition, five further holes have been punched through the plate. The artefact measures 37.2mm long, 11.3mm wide and 1.1mm thick. The weight is 1.52g.

A Post Medieval lead alloy (pewter) figurative mount, dating to the 16th century. The mount is domed with a hollow reverse. The front has been decoratively case to resemble a human face with pronounced jaw and beard. The face also has pronounced brows and cheek bones with pellet eyes with a central recessed dot for the pupils; a broad nose and moustache; the hair radiates in wavy lines around the face. There are two pellets between the eyes. On the reverse is a single integral rivet for attachment. The surface has a gilt appearance due to tin sulphides “nature’s gilding”. …
