Lead ampulla length 59mm, width 38mm, thickness 17mm, weight 34.97g.The flask's chamber is circular, on one side is a crowned heart surround by a wreath, the heart is cross hatched. On the other side is a four petalled flower enclosed within cross hatching.The neck is complete and pinched shut at the aperture, the angular suspension lugs on either side are complete. Half of a four disc lead alloy cloth seal dating from the Post medieval period (1575 – 1800). It consists of two circular discs joined next to each other. One has a large circular hole in the centre and is not decorated. The other is decorated with a thistle. The thistle possibly indicats a connection with the Dukes of Lennox and Richmond, who controlled the alnage from 1605 onwards (see Finds research Group Datasheet 3, fig. 13a). A slight tab projects from the disc with the hole, opposite the other disc. The edge of the second disc looks to be a post depositional break. It is 26.5…
