Cast copper alloy headstud brooch dating to the Roman period, (45-410AD). The object is a hinged example but the pin is missing. The hinged pin is mounted in a half cylinder across the back of the wings. The brooch has a large head loop. The wings are short and have a forward projecting end cap. A copper alloy pin head dating from the Early Medieval period. The head is polyhedral in shape (a cube with the corners cut off) and each of the four main faces is decorated with a ring and dot motif. There is also a ring and dot on the top. There is a collar where the pin shaft joins. Only a small part of the pin shaft remains and this is circular in section. It probably dates from 720 - 850 AD. It has a length of 19.17mm, width 7.15mm, thickness 2.47mm, weight 2.95g. For reference see YORYM-2B7B77 on the PAS database.

Half of a four disc lead alloy cloth seal dating from the Post medieval period (1575 – 1800). It consists of two circular discs joined next to each other. One has a large circular hole in the centre and is not decorated. The other is decorated with a thistle. The thistle possibly indicats a connection with the Dukes of Lennox and Richmond, who controlled the alnage from 1605 onwards (see Finds research Group Datasheet 3, fig. 13a). On one face is the design of a square topped shield containing what is probably a rampant lion. The back of the weight is corroded, but may be a thistle design.
