An Iron Age brooch of the La Tene IBb style (400-272 BC). The brooch is cast from a single piece of copper alloy. Half of the spring and all of the pin are missing. Only two loops of the spring remain on one side of the head. The bow has a semicircular arched profile and is oval in plan with a integrally cast valley running along the centre of the front. A copper alloy pin head dating from the Early Medieval period. The head is polyhedral in shape (a cube with the corners cut off) and each of the four main faces is decorated with a ring and dot motif. There is also a ring and dot on the top. There is a collar where the pin shaft joins. Only a small part of the pin shaft remains and this is circular in section. It probably dates from 720 - 850 AD. A rather crude copper-alloy strap end, Thomas Type A, dating to the late Early Medieval period. The strap end is relatively wide and short compared to the majority of other Type A strap ends. Almost half of the strap end is taken up by the zommorphic terminal; the ears are very large and the forehead contains a triangular stamp. The snout is also decorated with semi-circular mouldings. The body of the strap end is decorated with two rectangular panels containing 'scales'. The attachment end has two small rivet holes and is decorated with an incised semi-circle divided into segments.

Incomplete copper alloy T-shaped brooch, length 26mm, width 33mm, thickness 26mm, weight 9.15g.Tubular wings which hold the pin axis bar, there is a slot in the centre of the wings at the rear for the pin which is missing.The front of the wings is decorated with a series of recessed lines.The head of the bow is rather wide but rapidly narrows to the bow.The bow is truncated just below the head resulting in the loss of the catchplate.
