Medieval to post medieval cast copper alloy vessel leg: It is triangular in plan and profile with an elongated oval (sub-rectangular) cross section. It measures 24.34mm wide by 13.10mm thick, increasing to 37.50mm wide by 22.52mm thick. It is 46.83mm long and weighs 124.49 grams. It is dark green-black in colour and the surface is pitted.
Finder ID: Large copper alloy fragment of a cooking vessel leg or support, probably from a cauldron or skillet. Crudely cast with no distinguishing features other than tapering in shape.

A silver coin that has been folded in half. The coin is badly damaged so the design and inscription are largely obscured, except for a hand holding a sceptre, but this enough to identify it as a Cross and crosslets (Tealby) penny of Henry II (1154 – 1189) dating from 1158 - 1180. It has a length of 19.28mm, width 9.72mm, thickness 2.18mm, weight 1.45g. See North number 952 – 961.

A fragment from an unusual medieval copper-alloy openwork anthropomorphic buckle plate. Cast, possibly bearded male, figure; head with engraved angular eyes (one partly perforated by a central rivet-hole, splayed on reverse, possibly secondary?) and a mouth, two stumps of a possible perforated lug at apex, short horizontal projections with curved upper edges form shoulders with short (possibly broken) bar projecting from base. 15 x >22mm.
This fragment was published in Ashley (2016, fig.1, no.4), and originally identified as a mount, but see corrigendum on p.296 which corrects this…

Incomplete unusual copper alloy buckle, plate of (1mm) thick sheet in the form of a bird, body and wings separated by roughly keyhole-shaped spaces, engraved decoration of lines of tiny triangles, with three grooves to mark the slightly flaring tail. The wing terminals, which would have been pierced by rivets, are missing. >39 x >33mm. Pin slot, no frame recesses but tiny spiked projection on both sides next to fold. A cast copper alloy cooking vessel leg and foot. In plan it is a sub-rectangle with a flared and rounded foot. In profile the reverse of the leg is almost straight except the foot is obliquely angled outwards. In section the leg is an elongated semi-circle, but is only 10.92mm thick. The foot is bulbous and asymmetrical on the front face. The upper edge of the leg is broken, this is not a recent break.
