An incomplete cast copper-alloy unidentified object. The object is possibly a handle or a fragment from a piece of furniture. The object is in the form of a shaft or handle, with a large circular terminal at one end covered in iron corrosion. The other end is broken. The shaft leaving the circular terminal is rectangular in plan and square in cross-section. It meets a slightly expanded circular waist that narrows shortly thereafter and then expands again into three moulded collars. The shaft is broken thereafter. the object is probably Roman in date.

Acast copper alloy teardrop-headed button and loop fastener of Wild's hybrid Class II/III dating to the early Roman period. The fastener consists of a teardrop shaped head and a triangular shank. At the base of the tear-drop shaped head at the top is a moulded oval knop. The teardrop-shaped head is unlike most class III fasteners as it is perforated, hence the hybrid of Wild's Class II/III. An incomplete cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame of 18th century date.
When complete the frame would probably have been rectangular in plan. One outside edge and parts of the sides survive. The front, the outer and inner edges are slightly raised in the form of narrow border. At the centre of the inner face of the outside edge there is a small pin rest. The underside is largely bevelled although it is flat near the sides. Numerous file marks are present on the bevelled areas.
This buckle frame has an even mid-green patina overall. The two breaks are old.

A complete cast copper-alloy strap suspension fitting of probable Roman (50-450 AD) or possible Early Medieval (1000 – 1200 AD) date. The fitting consists of a single plate; which is sub-rectangular in plan and slightly curved in profile. The upper part is pierced in two places and would have enabled the plate to be fixed to a leather strap or similar. The remains of two corroded iron rivets are present. A complete but abraded and corroded cast copper alloy stirrup-strap mount of later early medieval date (1000 - 1100 AD). The stirrup strap mount is irregular in shape; being pentagonal in plan with a slight convex (domed) front and a concave rear face. The edges of the mount are slightly bevelled. In profile the mount is sub-rectangular (D Shaped) and curved due to design and movement in the ploughsoil. In cross section the mount is arched (C shaped). At the apex of the mount is positioned a central broken cast hole which shows evidence of wear. It has a diameter of 4.0mm.

Cast copper alloy (possibly brass) “bee-hive” or “heavy duty” thimble of later medieval date (1400-1550). The thimble is complete but distorted in plan and profile by movement in the plough soil. A large tear on one side has removed some of the metal from the side and dome. Originally it is likely that the thimble was broadly D shaped in plan with gentle sloping sides and a shallow domed top.
