Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Suffolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A group of eight unpatinated lithic implements, most of which demonstrate crude production techniques that are suggestive of a date range in the Middle to Late Bronze Age periods. 1)  A squat flake with hinge fracture and limited edge retouch forming a small notch. It has an obtuse striking angle and has no trace of cortex. This flake measures 39.75mm in length, 25.48mm in width, 9.63mm in thickness, and weighs 8.51g. 2) A squat flake with slight edge retouch around a convex distal end, possibly for use as a scraper. It has one striking platform only and approximately 25% cortex. It measures 37.04mm in length, 22.58mm in width, 15.83mm in thickness, and weighs 15.51g. 2) An unpatinated squat flake with slight notch at distal end and a natural striking platform. It has approximately 80% cortex. It measures 25.53mm in width, 21.39mm in length, 12.55mm in th…
