A complete cast copper-alloy strap suspension fitting of probable Roman (50-450 AD) or possible Early Medieval (1000 – 1200 AD) date. The fitting consists of a single plate; which is sub-rectangular in plan and slightly curved in profile. The upper part is pierced in two places and would have enabled the plate to be fixed to a leather strap or similar. The remains of two corroded iron rivets are present.
