Medieval composite strap end fragment length 33mm, width 20mm, thickness 5mm, weight 4.9g.Incomplete forked spacer plate with projecting acorn terminal/knop, the two arms of the spacer are truncated.Both the top and bottom plates are missing. Egan & Pritchard publishes a number of similar composite strap ends with acorn knops, dated to between 1330-1450 ('Dress Accessories' HMSO) p.143-5.
