An incomplete cast copper-alloy handle from a cooking vessel of Medieval to early Post-Medieval date. A short length of the oval sectioned leg survives intact, as well as part of the floor of the vessel, the remainder of the object now missing due to old breaks. The exterior surfaces of the leg are slightly faceted in appearance and have blackened surfaces resultant from exposure to high temperatures. It measures 58.11mm in length, 21.38mm in width, 26.37mm in thickness, and weighs 88.88g. This vessel leg is of later Medieval to early Post-Medieval date, c.14th-17th centuries AD.

A copper alloy Roman pointed oval plate brooch. The plate is divided into three cells; a large central oval cell and a thicker band surrounding that and a thin border. The enamel is all decayed. The pin and most of the catch plate are missing. It has a single pin lug. It has a length of 36.15mm, width 26.58mm, thickness 6.14mm, weight 17.20g. A cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle of Post-Medieval date. It has rectangular loops that flare slightly at their outer corners and are separated by a central bar that is triangular in section. A separately cast copper-alloy pin hinges around the bar and is triangular in section, tapering to a sharp point that extends beyond the outer edge of the frame. The buckle measures 33.05mm in width, 21.43mm in height, 2.48mm in thickness, and weighs 5.10g. It is of early Post-Medieval date, probably from the 16th-17th centuries AD.

A copper alloy square shaped coin weight possibly for the Thistle crown of James I (1603 – 1625). The weight is square and flat with straight sides. On one face is the design of a square topped shield containing what is probably a rampant lion. The back of the weight is corroded, but may be a thistle design. It has a length of 15.27mm, width 13.48mm, thickness 1.77mm, weight 1.90g. For reference see P and B Withers 1995. Lions, Ships and Angels p. 35.

Half of a four disc lead alloy cloth seal dating from the Post medieval period (1575 – 1800). It consists of two circular discs joined next to each other. One has a large circular hole in the centre and is not decorated. The other is decorated with a thistle. The thistle possibly indicats a connection with the Dukes of Lennox and Richmond, who controlled the alnage from 1605 onwards (see Finds research Group Datasheet 3, fig. 13a). A slight tab projects from the disc with the hole, opposite the other disc. The edge of the second disc looks to be a post depositional break. It is 26.5…
