A silver coin that has been folded in half. The coin is badly damaged so the design and inscription are largely obscured, except for a hand holding a sceptre, but this enough to identify it as a Cross and crosslets (Tealby) penny of Henry II (1154 – 1189) dating from 1158 - 1180. It has a length of 19.28mm, width 9.72mm, thickness 2.18mm, weight 1.45g. See North number 952 – 961.

A post-medieval silver coin: a posthumous groat of Henry VIII struck under Edward VI (1547 – 1553), initial mark K (1547 – 1549), Tower mint. The coin is worn and somewhat clipped and there is a chip from the flan at 6 o’clock. It is 24.95mm in diameter and 0.68mm thick. It weighs 1.71gm. Reference: North Vol. 2, No. 1871.

Date: 16th/17th Century Description: A silver, probably hollow circular button. The front piece is domed with a protruding pimple at the apex. The back piece is slightly convex and has a central integral attachment loop. This has a solid stem which is rectangular in section, which divides to form a round loop. Discussion: In terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
