Medieval to post medieval cast copper alloy vessel leg: It is triangular in plan and profile with an elongated oval (sub-rectangular) cross section. It measures 24.34mm wide by 13.10mm thick, increasing to 37.50mm wide by 22.52mm thick. It is 46.83mm long and weighs 124.49 grams. It is dark green-black in colour and the surface is pitted.
Finder ID: Large copper alloy fragment of a cooking vessel leg or support, probably from a cauldron or skillet. Crudely cast with no distinguishing features other than tapering in shape.

A cast copper alloy cooking vessel leg and foot. In plan it is a sub-rectangle with a flared and rounded foot. In profile the reverse of the leg is almost straight except the foot is obliquely angled outwards. In section the leg is an elongated semi-circle, but is only 10.92mm thick. The foot is bulbous and asymmetrical on the front face. The upper edge of the leg is broken, this is not a recent break. A probable cast copper alloy cooking vessel leg and foot. In plan it is a sub-triangular at the base, with a flared and rounded sides. The fragment is an asymmetrical shape in plan from the upper view and has an undulating surface. There are traces of a heavy black deposit which is probably a sooty/carbon deposit across the base, sides and upper surface. Otherwise the surface has a mottled mid green abraded surface. The leg measures 16.03mm thick, 26.53mm wide across the foot and 27.51mm long. It weighs 39.9g.

A rim sherd and a body sherd from cast copper-alloy cooking vessels of Medieval to early Post-Medieval date. They both have a dark green patina with evidence of corrosion and post-depositional damage in places. The rim measures 40.09mm in width, 25.31mm in length, 7.73mm in thickness, and 18.09g in weight. The body sherd measures 31.65mm in length, 31.99mm in width, 5.21mm in thickness, and weighs 17.52g. These sherds probably date to between the 15th and 17th centuries AD.

Cast copper alloy (possibly brass) “bee-hive” or “heavy duty” thimble of later medieval date (1400-1550). The thimble is complete but distorted in plan and profile by movement in the plough soil.
