Copper alloy Cast leg of a cauldron. Tapered, and of flattened triangular section, producing a vertical rib on outer face which becomes more prominent as it approaches the broader end. The broad end is concave where it fitted to the body of the vessel. One of a group of vessel fragments from the same site and reported together, perhaps a collection intended for recycling. Suggested date: Medieval: 1200-1450. Length: 50.70mm, Width: 31.33mm, Thickness: 16.25mm, Weight: 68.21gms.

Copper alloy Early Medieval hanging bowl mount fragment . A flat section of a possibly circular cast plate of estimated diameter c.68mm. One surface is decorated with spiral motif in relief, connected to a further incomplete interlace motif. The fields between the raised decoration is filled with (now) white enamel. Suggested date: Early Medieval, Anglo-Saxon, 500-700. The estimated size of the object is a little unusual. A border at the broader end bears a horizontal row of pellets set centrally in a shallow ridge; a round hole below the gutter (diameter 3.8mm) was revealed by crumbling of soil fill of the object, and may relate to its attachment to a sheath. Torn at its broad end. Length: 44.02mm, Width: 11.98mm, Thickness: 6.09mm, Weight (part-filled with soil); 4.74gms. Suggested date: Medieval, 1250-1450.
