A fragment of a cast lead pilgrim ampulla of Medieval date (c. 1150-c.1350). This fragment is the lower half of the body of the object and has ragged breaks along the top edge. One face has traces of a flower-like design that may be similar to the design on ampullae found at Salisbury and published by Spencer 1990: 61 and 90. refs: 183-185. There is also a design on the other face. However, due to wear, this is indeterminate. The fragment is in poor condition and the outer surfaces have a grey patina. The base is damaged and the breaks are old. 23.4 x 28.7 x 7.1mm. Weight: 10…

A copper-alloy arm from a set of tweezers. The style and decoration suggest an early to middle Anglo-Saxon date. The narrowest part of the artefact is at the broken loop. Object type: BRASS
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Suffolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A fragment from a monumental brass of probable Medieval date. Part of the top edge is preserved, with a few letters visible, but not enough to identify the original inscription. The surviving lettering perhaps reads []DM with horizontal contraction mark above in addition to two small crosses. A second word possibly begins INN, but this is uncertain due to the preservation of the object. The entire brass measures 64.83mm in width, 21.56mm in height, 3.35mm in thickness, and weighs 29.08g. This monumantal brass is of possible 15th century AD date.

A copper-alloy hooked mount of post-Medieval date. The mount has a wide 'V-shaped' notch in its horizontal upper side. The long sides tapers towards the bottom, where there is the remnant of a backward-facing hook. There are two rivet holes, the upper one containing the remnants of an iron rivet.
