Copper alloy domed Post-Medieval thimble. The dome rises to a slight point in its centre. The indentations appear to be hand-made as they are deeper at one side than the other. Imported thimbles, with machine-made indentations, became popular in the following century, after the technique was introduced in 1620 (ibid. p.3), suggesting that this thimble was unlikely to have been produced long after this date.
