Cast copper alloy double-loop oval spectacle buckle with moulded projections either side of the strap bar and moulded acorn knops on the outer edge of each loop that have been crudely incised with three parallel lines to define the edge and the layers of the acorn. The strap bar is narrowed and flush with the frame and still holds the sheet copper alloy pin, which is 24 mm long and 4.5 mm wide. Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar example on page 65, No.405, which is dated to c.1550-1650.
