A small quartzite hammerstone, roughly round in shape with two distinct impact points and several smaller areas of impact. The outer cortex has been battered and has flaked to reveal the inner grey-blue stone. Hammerstones are hard to date on their own, but this artefact is part of a small assemblage of late Mesolithic / Neolithic flint tools so probably dates from this period. The hammerstone measures 39.78mm in diameter and weighs 77.6gms.

Cast copper-alloy dragonesque brooch. Roman, c. AD 75-175. Mass: 9.61 g; length: 40.4mm; width: 23.4mm; depth: 5mm. The brooch is S-shaped in plan with a head at one end and break at the neck at the other end. The pin is missing. The front of the plate is slightly convex and the reverse is slightly concave. The front of the brooch is decorated; with blue champlevé enamel remaining in two lines of lozenges in the centre, flanked by blue enamelled curvilinear designs with orange dots. Carved soapstone bovine (Ox or Cow) figurine of Roman date (100-350 AD). The figurine is naturalistic in style and incomplete having three broken legs; two of which were discovered close to the find. The carving has been achieved from a combination of whittling and carving, probably using a knife. Although some of the elements are stylised in design the overall impression of the figure is life-like and well proportioned. Date: 13th -14th Century A small silver pendant in the shape of a cross, with all four arms surviving. The upper arm is shortest and extends into a spiral of collars. It terminates with a large suspension loop which is set at a right angle to the plan of the object. The other three arms are rounded, but flat on the obverse and reverse. Each of the three arms terminates with a knop, which is formed from a raised spiral, each of three turns. A copper alloy, medieval buckle with an integral plate. The loop is a plain oval with neither decoration nor pin notch. The plate is rectangular and has two rivet holes for fastening. One rivet remains in place and has a domed head. There is a hole in the plate for the pin, but the bar bround which the pin would have fixed is missing, as is the pin. The plate has been bent in antiquity and now stands at 90 degrees to the loop of the buckle. The buckle has a light green patina. It is 25mm long, 33mm wide and 14.6mm thick. It weighs 7.91gm. An early medieval gilt copper alloy mount. It is square with concave sides with an animal's head protruding from each of the four corners. The surface is flat and decorated with Borre style knotwork. Gilding survives over much of the surface. On the back are four rectangular projecting tabs, three of which have broken off at the base. The use for the mount remains unknown. It has a length of 25.1mm and a width of 24.8mm, it has a thickness of 4.4mm and it weighs 10.92g. It probably dates from the late 9th or 10th century.
