An incomplete cast lead cap for a powder measure of post-Medieval date (1600-1700). The cap was used for measuring a charge of gunpowder. It is misshapen around the rim. The closed end is circular in plan and the open end is now misshapen but would probably have been oval. The suspension loops are absent. Casting seams are not apparent on the outer face. However they can just be seen on the inside, on opposite another. The object is corroded and in poor condition and the rim is formed by a series of ragged breaks. 17.3 x 23.8 x 19.6mm. Large flint scraper of Neolithic or early Bronze Age date. The object is roughly semi-circular in form. It has a wide butt and prominent bulb, suggesting that a large, hard hammer was used in its production. The flint is very poor quality and mostly inner cortex. The dorsal face has three primary flaking scars on its surface and several laminar fractures around the proximal end. The distal end still has rough outer cortex remaining towards the left side. Fragment of rim from a cast copper-alloy cooking vessel. The exterior is roughly smoothed with a good deal of sooting from the cooking fire, and the interior is very smoothly polished. The metal is a greyish green. The rim is slightly thickened to give it a plano-convex cross-section, with the curved face on the outside. The fragment measures 53 x 37 mm. The thickness of the body varies from 3 mm at the thickened rim to 1 mm at the breaks. The breaks are neither noticeably fresh nor very worn. It weighs 21.81g. A complete cast copper alloy guard from the lower part of the handle of a late eighteenth century military sword. The object is almost symmetrical and is sub-oval in plan. It has a central rectangular opening (14.1 x 10.7mm) to accommodate a tang and a scrolled border on both faces. Within the border, on each face at either side of the tang opening, there is moulded decoration of St George holding a spear and standing over a dragon. An incomplete and highly corroded cast copper-alloy Roman plate brooch of the 'gilded glass centre-boss' type. The brooch is circular, with some circumferential abrasion. It has a raised border and raised circle within. At its centre is an even higher circular setting with a central ring. The glass 'jewel' is now seemingly missing from this latter, to have been replaced with a now orange, flat enamel fill, which retains traces of a darker, shiny patina.
