A fragment of a cast copper alloy buckle plate of Post-Medieval date (c. AD 1500 – c. AD 1700). Length: 22.8mm; width; 14.0mm and 1.6mm thick. Weight: 2.24g. This object is probably the front of a hinged (folded) plate. Two breaks have occurred along the fold and the rear plate is missing due to these breaks. The plate probably relates to a double looped frame associated with sword belt fitting ensemble. Roman copper alloy finger-ring of Henig type Xb, with a dark and lighter blue glass intaglio (imitating nicolo, a two-tone gemstone). It measures 21.7x20.9mm in 'diameter' (internal 17.6x14.5mm) and weighs 2.95g. The bezel is pointed-oval in shape with the points cut off (11x15.6mm), to give stepped shoulders (5.3mm and 5.6mm wide). The hoop tapers below to 1.4mm wide (the hoop is D-shaped in section, being flat on the inside). In shape, the finger-ring is a D - the bezel being flat. Roman copper alloy finger-ring of Henig type XI or XII, with an oval setting on the bezel (now missing). It measures 19.8x19.2mm in 'diameter' (internal 15.8x15.2mm) and weighs 3.30g. In profile, the finger ring is slightly triangular in shaped, with a flat top and hoop that reaches a point (narrowest part) on the opposite side. The bezel is 11.4mm wide, narrowing at the shoulders to 9.5mm and 10mm either side, and then further narrowing to 3mm at the narrowest part of the hoop, which is fractured.
