A Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy lozenge-shaped stud or tack. The stud has a central flower formed from pellets and trilobe terminals at each external angle. The reverse is plain and the single attachment spike is missing. A copper-alloy 'Shield of France' jetton, probably struck at Tournai and dating from the 15th century AD. Similar to Mitchiner nos. 682-687 (1988, p. 227). The jetton has a slightly dish-shaped flan, is very worn and corroded and has traces of a black (corroded white-metal?) coating. It measures 24mm in diameter, 1.2mm thick and weighs 2.86g.
