A Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy lozenge-shaped stud or tack. The stud has a central flower formed from pellets and trilobe terminals at each external angle. The reverse is plain and the single attachment spike is missing. A similar example is illustrated in Read; Metal Artefacts of Antiquity Vol 1 (2001) p32 No. 249 which he assigns a 15th early 16th date. Dimensions: Length 24.5mm; weight 2.78g

The bow is now broken and only the lower edge and the tri-lobed foot remain. There is a single lug on the reverse with some iron corrosion and the remains of a pin. A copper-alloy 'Shield of France' jetton, probably struck at Tournai and dating from the 15th century AD. Similar to Mitchiner nos. 682-687 (1988, p. 227). The jetton has a slightly dish-shaped flan, is very worn and corroded and has traces of a black (corroded white-metal?) coating. It measures 24mm in diameter, 1.2mm thick and weighs 2.86g.
