A copper-alloy mount, heavily mercury-gilded, with inlaid glass eyes. The mount is in the form of an elongated horned head and is D-shaped in cross-section, with a three-dimensional front and a flat reverse. The head is that of a moustached and bearded man wearing a horned helmet; his face is long and thin, with slightly sunken cheeks.
The helmet has a base made up of a triple raised line. The uppermost line turns to form a triple vertical line up the middle of the helmet to the crown. The horns rise and curve to meet and fuse in predatory birds' heads with curving beaks…

Incomplete copper-alloy finger-ring with surviving bezel, one shoulder and part of hoop. The bezel is lozenge-shaped with rounded corners. It has been elaborately decorated with incised designs, which comprise a border and central vertical line made up of squares, and a pair of incised triangles filling the lozenge. Inside each is a triangular interlace design, with the ribbon decorated with a line of punched dots.

Fragment of a copper-alloy strap-end of Thomas's Class B, Type 5. Only the lower half survives, and the break is an irregular tear across the centre which has resulted in the loss of the attachment end and the rivets. The surviving part is filled with a single field of interlace in deep counter-relief. It tapers to the slightly raised terminal, which is in the form of an animal's head. The head is neatly modelled, with deep relief ears, pointed-oval eyes, and a nose formed from a double moulding. Fragment of a copper-alloy strap-end. Only the lower half survives; the break is an irregular tear across the centre, which has resulted in the loss of the attachment end and the rivets. The strap-end has a single field of decoration filled with a rather crude interlace design in counter-relief within an undecorated border. It tapers to a slightly raised knop which is collared and pointed. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The metal is a mid reddish-green colour; it is pitted and slightly corroded.

A small cast lead weight with rounded edges and a flat base. Into the top of the weight a styca coin has been pressed. The coin is not otherwise identifiable. The lead is a light greyish-brown colour. A similar weight can be seen in the Yorkshire Museum's collection (Pirie, p282). This Viking weight dates from the 9th or 10th century.
This object was found along with YORYM-022143 styca of Aethelred and YORYM-01F154 lead weight.

A small cast lead weight with rounded edges and a flat top and bottom. In the top of the weight two fragments of a light greyish-blue glass have been pressed in. The lead is a light yellowish-brown colour. A similar weight can be seen in the Yorkshire Museum's collection (Pirie, p282).

Viking-age weight made from copper alloy with an iron core. The weight is roughly globular, with some flattened facets. One of the flattened facets is decorated with a ring made up of small stamped circles. Inside the ring is a swastika motif, but part of the motif has worn away revealing the brassy colouring of the metal. Opposite this there is a large lump of cracked and damaged copper alloy. An almost complete set (three larger and possibly two smaller fragments) of a rotary quern for grinding grain to create flour, probably dating from the Roman period, i.e. AD43-410, although similar household rotary querns were in use until the 19th century. Earlier examples of similar shape (called 'beehive querns', see examples in Ingle 1993/4, 21-33.) were also in use in the later pre-Roman Iron Age, but a Roman date is the most likely one for this rotary quern.

A medieval gold stirrup-shaped finger-ring. The slender hoop rises to a pointed bezel, which is set with a small blue stone.
Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the surface of the ring, carried out by the British Museum Department of Conservation and Scientific Research, indicated a gold content of 70-74%, silver content of 14-16%, the remainder being copper. The blue stone was identified by Raman spectroscopy as corundum. Corundum with a blue colouration is known as sapphire.

Fragment from of the handle of a copper alloy chafing dish. This consists of a ring, with an ingregrally cast rivet, the end of which was swaged over to secure it to the dish. The rivet is separated from the ring by stepped shoulders. The handle terminates in a three dimensional animal's head, shaped by casting but with the details of the nostrils and eyes added with incised lines. The animal's head was attached to a metal bar which is cranked at 90 degrees after passing through the ring. Originally it would have turned again to form the handle.
