A copper alloy Medieval coin weight. It is a uniface round weight, bearing a figure on horseback riding right with a sword in hand. It is 14.5mm x 14.2mm x 2.9mm, and weighs 3.38g. This weight was probably French and made for a cheval of Jean II (1350-1364) or Charles V (1364-1380). The weight is without a legend. This weight is similar to an example in 'Identifying coin weights found in Britain' by P and B R Withers (p.32).

Fragment of a copper alloy Roman brooch. It is a Langton Down type, with only the upper bow, head and axis bar remaining. The simple 'T' shape and the acute angle of the upper bow from the head suggests Langton Down. It has a patchy green and orange patina and measures 24.9mm x 17.6mm x 3.3mm, weighing 5.57g. There is a parallel to this is Richard Hattatt's 'A visual Guide to Richard Hattatt's Ancient Brooches' (p.306, fig.771).

Object type: MOUNT
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A copper alloy belt mount, in the form of a six-pointed star. The mount has the remains of a silver finish on the front side, with two integral spikes on the back; one is bent and blunted at the break, the other broken near the join. It has a green patina on the back in areas. It measures 14.8mm x 15.4mm x 2.2mm, and weighs 1.57g. There is a similar design to this on the database (BERK-F5F8D2¬¬¬), which dates this to post Medieval (c.1600-1700AD). Post Medieval mounts are often defined by the complex shapes and the presence of a single, or duel spikes rather than rivets on the reverse.
