A body sherd of probable late Iron Age date. The sherd measures 51.7mm by 39mm by 9.3mm and weighs 17.8g. It is a reduced mid to dark brownish-grey throughout, with the exception of the internal surface which is a more oxidised buff. The fabric is very sandy and micaceous, with sparse larger whitish (probably rounded quartz) and black (probably balck iron ore) inclusions (up to 1mm).The exterior surface of the vessel has a moulded horizontal bead with a perpendicular ridge and parallel incised line below.

A cast copper alloy dolphin brooch of early Roman date. The brooch measures 47.4mm by 20.3mm by 5.2mm and weighs 12.2g. The cylindrical wings conceal the iron axis bar for the missing iron hinged pin. The bow projects upwards and outwards from the wings, then narrows gradually to a point. On the reverse of the terminal is the slightly damaged flat catchplate. There is a longitudinal ridge along the centre of the bow and on the wings, two short diagonal incised parallel lines flank either side of the bow. There are possible traces of tinning on one side.

One sherd of probable Oxfordshire red/brown slipped fine ware of late Roman date. The sherd, which is a rim, measures 64.5mm by 31.1mm by 10.8mm and weighs 18.4g. It has a very slight external bead. It is an oxidised orange throughout with traces of a darker orange slip both internally and externally. The fabric is micaceous with sparse rounded to sub-angular pieces of red iron ore (up to 2mm)and rare sub-rounded to sub-angular white inclusions (up to 1mm).

One grey ware sherd of Roman date. The sherd, a rim from a everted rimmed jar, measures 21mm by 26mm by 7.2mm and weighs 5.3g. It is a reduced mid-grey throughout. The fabric is contains common rounded fine sand and rounded to sub-angular black iron ore, sparse mica and rare sub-rounded quartz (up to 2mm). The vessel is likely to have been of local manufacture. Fragment of circular rim from a chafing dish, made from a copper alloy.  The object consists of a section of slightly curved metal with a protruding dish-support. The inner edge of the rim is rough but appears un-broken. Length: 56.99mm, width: 30.41mm, thickness: 7.56mm, length of leg: 18.16mm, weight: 29.54g. Hollow, copper alloy, eighteenth century button with pointed five petal flower decoration. The back of the object has two ‘blow holes’ from the manufacturing process and a loop. There are traces of silver plating on the back of the object and the base of the loop. The button is somewhat squashed and would originally have had a more three dimensional appearance. Fragment of copper alloy bracelet, probably mid to end 1st century AD in date. The fragment is gently curved. The decoration on the object consists of two narrow central bands of wreath like decoration terminating in a narrow, vertical band of line decoration on the other side of which are three hatched, stylised leaves. Length: 24.77mm, width: 15.83mm, thickness: 1.15mm, weight: 2.07g. A similar bracelet can be seen in Crummy 1983, 38 no. 1586.

Fragment of late medieval copper alloy purse frame, slightly bent. It measures 75.9mm in length and weighs 19.40g. The frame is L-shaped in section with the length of the L being slightly thicker than the foot (3.3mm to 2.5mm). The thicker part is also wider (8.7 to 7.1mm) and has the incomplete grooved inscription TECVM+bENEDIC[ ... ]. The frame is broken at either end. An incomplete cast copper alloy spur of Post-Medieval date (AD 1500 – AD 1700). Length: 60.0mm; width 55.8mm and 6.3mm thick. Weight: 14.25g. The spur is generally U-shaped in plan with a projecting rowel box and the terminals are missing due to old breaks. One of the sides is misshapen. The sides are roughly D-shaped in cross-section. The inner face of each side is slightly convex and the outer faces are strongly convex. There is no crest and no neck between the U-shaped sides and the rowel box which is integral with the sides.
