Object type: JETTON
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Nottinghamshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Post medieval jetton; struck copper alloy jetton of French origin and probable 17th century date. The token is quite worn but seems to have a cross within a tressure of arches on one side, surrounded by an inscription. The other side has an elaborate double cross with lys terminals. The edge of the token on this side is too worn to determine whether there was any inscription. Diameter 26.6mm, weight 4.23g
