A fragment of a cast copper alloy and tinned Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) brooch of late fifth to sixth century (c. AD 475 - c. AD 600). Length: 20.0mm; width: 15.8mm and 5.6mm thick. Weight: 2.68g. The fragment is probably part of the foot of a small-long brooch or the foot of a radiate-headed brooch. It has old transverse breaks at either end. The break near the catch-plate appears to be more recent than the other break. Silver finger ring height 22mm, width 20mm, thickness 2mm. The wing is made from a length of silver wire that has been looped twice round to form a double band. The wire has a square cross-section, its evenness along its length suggests it has been drawn rather than hammered. A bezel comprising of a low triangle flanked by two knots have been formed by looping the terminals of the wire once around the frame of the ring, in between the loops one strand of the frame has been bent forward to form a low triangle. Cast copper alloy annular brooch length 22mm, width 18mm, thickness 4mm, weight 2.6g. There are four collets spaced evenly around the frame, these taper outwards along the frame giving a sub-triangular cross-section. Each is filled with a white paste that would have been or held a gem decoration. There is a constriction of the pin, which has a circular cross-sectio; the end has been bent around the constriction. Cast copper alloy strap end length 33mm, width 9mm, thickness 3mm, weight 2.2g. Sub-oval shape, the sides are slightly convex and a pointed terminal. The terminal probably had an animal facemask, but all of the detail together with all of the detail on the main body has been removed by corrosion. The attachment end is slotted for the strap, with two rivet holes. The underside is plain. The artefact is heavily corroded resulting in the loss of all detail. Copper alloy strap end, length 39mm, width 31mm, thickness 2mm, weight 8.85g. The object consists of a crescent that has an incised border on its upper edge and what appears to be random incised lines within, the lower side is slightly hollow. The forward edge has a trefoil shaped protrusion which is decorated on its upper side with linear incisions, to indicate a leaf. There are two rivet holes in the centre of the crescent one of which still retains it copper alloy rivet, one arm of the crescent has been snapped. This artefact dates to the 15th century.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy mount, possibly from a harness of length 50mm, width 41mm, thickness 12mm. Quatrefoil shape with a large domed central boss that has a circular knop on the tip and four groves running vertically down the sides. The four arms have a narrowed waist with a circular terminal, there is a rivet hole in the centre of the terminal. Each of the arms are decorated with linear engraved lines; one of the arms is truncated. The handle has a flat, crescent-shaped back terminal, it then curves in to form a long, narrow handle with a moulded waist to represent the lion’s rear haunches. A cast copper alloy rowel spur fragment length 55mm, width 67mm. The fragment consists of the rowel box and part of both sides of the spur. The rowel box is short and circular in section, with a moulded collar. The rowel and bar are missing. The sides are D-shaped in section, terminated by breaks. The breaks are worn. The surface of the object is worn, and has a brownish-green patina. This spur dates to the late medieval to post medieval period. Date 1400-1700

Post Medieval copper alloy sword belt fitting, 50mm long, 20mm wide and 13mm, weight 8.05g. The object is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 6.78grams. The object is roughly foliate in form, with incised decoration forming a leaf pattern. It has a trefoil shaped terminal at one end and a hook at the other. The hook has a spherical terminal. There are two circular fixing holes one near the trefoil terminal and one above the hook, both are encrusted in iron corrosion.
