A medieval (14th century) flat circular cast copper alloy seal matrix, now very worn. There is a linear central rib on the reverse with a semi-circular suspension loop with a circular drilled hole. A cast copper-alloy dress hook or hooked tag. The main body of the hook is heart-shaped and comprises of two plates; the back-plate being flat and undecorated and the front being domed with embossed decoration of foliate & scrolled design around a central lonzenge containing a pellet. The upper plate is damaged along one side. There are two holes through the main body of the heart which would have been used for stitching the hook to clothing. The tapered hook is soldered to the underside of the heart so that the hook appears to project from the pointed end. Dated c.1500-1650 AD.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy pipe tamper. At one end the tamper is shaped to incorporate a signet ring. The ring bezel carries the initials I B with three dots in an upright row between and an exploded cross with pellet centre to the top and bottom. The base of the tamper is broken and missing. Such pipe tampers date from the mid-17th to the mid 18th century. Similar examples are illustrated in Bailey (1992, 61; 12, 13). Dated c.1650-1750 AD.

Post medieval cast copper alloy S-shaped belt hook with zoomorphic terminals. Dated to the 16th or 17th century. It is formed of a single piece of copper alloy curled round at either end to act as a fixing for a belt. Each end is cast with a narrow snout or beak with an incised line for a mouth, brow ridges in relief and small incised dots for eyes. Cast copper-alloy seal matrix of the Later Medieval period. The matrix is large, circular and flat with a semi-circular lug with hole for suspension on the reverse (adjacent to one edge). The front of the matrix is badly worn but it clearly held a central motif in a circle with a, now illegible, motto around the perimeter. A miniature three-dimensional copper-alloy Roman axe of probable 2nd to 4th century AD date. The axe is of socketed type with a slightly rounded cutting edge although most of the cutting edge has been lost to damage. the item is pierced with one small circular hole, presumably for suspension. This artefacts clearly have no practical use and are thought to be good luck talismans, amulets or votive pieces (cf.Ref: I.M. Stead and V. Rigby; 1986; p.136). Dated c.100-400 AD.

The bezel is circular and contains a circular recess in which the remains of the badly damaged setting still exist. The setting is red-yellow in colour and it seems quite likely that this is amber rather than degraded enamel. The shoulders of the ring have one incised groove running along either edge but are otherwise plain. Dated c.100-300 AD.
