Medieval copper alloy U-shaped arm from a locking buckle. It is lenticular in section, ending in a globular 'twisted' terminal at one end, and the other end (from circa half way along the stem) narrowing and becoming more circular in section. At its widest point, just before it narrows, is measures 5.7x3.6mm in section. The narrow arm measures 3.6x2.8mm. This narrow part is 17.5mm in length and would have formed the axis bar for the buckle. In length the U-shaped arm is 38.5mm and it weighs 4.91g. A Late Iron Age copper-alloy incomplete pommel/chape (300BC - AD100). The object is bulbous, with a waisted centre, rising up to two points, both missing. The surface is decorated with incised lines rising from the base up towards the two points; corrosion obscures the majority of the decoration. The waisted section is plain and undecorated. The object consists of a circular matrix which may have an image of a bird? It has a sub-circular shaft which tapers from teh reverse of the matrix and terminates with a protruding collar and a circular suspension loop. The inscription is too worn to make out.

Roman copper alloy bow brooch of It Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends, middle Severn Valley), cf. Mackreth 2011, 3.b. Plate 46. It is 46mm long, 14mm wide and 14mm deep. The brooch is in good condition with a green patina and weighs 5.67grams. The brooch has short semi-circular sectioned wings which have two vertical incised lines forming a border at each end and contains a spring of seven coils with a small part of the pin intact. A large shoe buckle of the type made popular by the Comte d'Artois in the late 18th century. The buckle appears to be made of cut steel which is heavily corroded. The front has probably been japanned which appears to have protected it from corrosion to some extent. The frame is decorated with two large grooves running completely around the frame, separated by wide flat topped bands. The outer band is divided by a narrow grove. Copper alloy rectangular buckle with integeral strap bar. The buckles outer sides are moulded in a baluster shape, one of which provides a notch for the pin, which is missing. The top and bottom sides are flat on the back and sides but the fronts curve inwards between the strap bar and the two ends. Traces of tinning remain. The buckle is 43.6mm long, 42.2mm wide, 5.4mm thick and weighs 23.0g. The stap bar is 35.3mm long and 3.2mm thick. Similar to Whitehead (2003) p.78, No. 477.
