Palaeolithic flint hand axe, 61mm long, 48mm wide and 18mm thick. The axe is in good condition and made from brown flint, with some re-cortication, and weighs 51.26 grams. The axe is bi-facially worked and has a plano-convex cross section. It has a scraper edge, a damaged cutting edge and a curved chopping edge. Dr Kevin Leahy writes: this object appears to be a Middle Palaeolithic 'bout coupe'' handaxe and is therefore of some interest.
