A silver Series D, type 2c Sceat ('Continental runic' type), struck in Frisia in the early 8th century AD (see D.M. Metcalf: Thyrmsas and Sceattas in the Ashmolean Museum; vol. 2; p.184- 90). Measures 10.8mm in diameter, 1.3mm thick and weighs 1.13g. The coin is in good condition, with little wear or corrosion.

A copper-alloy ring-shaped object of uncertain date and function. The object, which appears to be of some antiquity, is possibly a finger-ring. At the back is a gap. The terminal which survives undamaged comes to a blunt point; the opposing terminal is of flatter section, wider and is broken off at the end. The width of the ring increases gradually towards the front. The upper surface is slightly convex and the inner surface is flat. The artefact measures 17.7mm deep, 22.7mm wide, 9.5mm high. It weighs 4.6g.

A worn copper-alloy Nuremburg jetton of Hans Schultes I. This is an example of the popular Rose/Orb series. It dates from between 1553 and 1584 AD (see M. Mitchiner; 1988; pp. 396). It measures 24mm in diameter, 0.8mm thick and weighs 1.5g.

Medieval copper alloy double-looped buckle with separate strap and pin bar. The buckle is sub-rectangular in shape with the middle bar set closer to one end creating asymmetrical loops. The middle bar has a shallow groove across its centre with an indent on one side. The end of the smaller loop possibly has a row of stamped annulets running down it. A similar example is illustrated by Whitehead (1993:88) number 545 to which he gives a AD 1350-1450 date range.

Post Medieval cast copper-alloy asymmetrical buckle frame. The frame has one rectangular and one D shaped loop. At the centre of the D shaped loop the inner side projects inwards in a point forming a wider area. The strap bar is narrowed. The pin is missing. Whitehead (2003:91) illustrates a similar example, no.570, which he dates to c.1575-1700 AD.

A copper alloy horse harness pendant of Medieval date. The pendant is roughly circular in plan with six scalloped edges and a vertical projection which houses the pendant's hinge. The pendant's suspension loop, which is plain and pierced horizontally, is fixed atop this vertical projection. The uppermost portion of the suspension loop has deteriorated due to wear or corrosion. The body of the pendant is hollowed out in the form of a sexfoil in order to accommodate a smaller, free-swinging pendant. An incomplete cast copper alloy spring-strip padlock of Medieval date (c. AD 1200 – c. AD 1400). Length: 39.8mm; width: 10.6mm and 8.4mm thick. Weight: 8.86g. The case is octagonal in cross-section throughout its length and is misshapen and incomplete due to old damage and breaks. At one end of the case is a projecting sub-rectangular arm (tab) which measures 11.2mm x 6.6mm x 2.3mm and has a circular perforation at its centre which has a diameter of 1.8mm.
