Object type: FINGER RING
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Warwickshire
Workflow stage: Published Find published
Fragment of a silver-gilt finger ring comprising an oval bezel, in which would have once been set a gemstone, and a small section of both shoulders. From the parts of the shoulders that are visible, the hoop appears to have had circular decoration and it is on these parts of the ring that traces of gilding can be seen. In the absence of any clear distinguishing features to suggest the ring has a dating to pre-1707, this ring is classed as not Treasure.

A copper alloy finger ring dating to the Roman period. The finger ring possesses a circular hoop which is circular in section. It extends to two very small ribbed shoulders which flank an oval bezel. The bezel is decorated with four circles. The wear on the bezel makes it difficult to establish whether the circles are applied cells in a different material or cast integrally with the bezel. The ring has a diameter of 18mm. The bezel has a length of 9mm and a width of 6mm.
