Description of Object
A cast silver Roman spoon fragment. Only a fragment of the bowl remains, therefore the original shape is unknown. The bowl is has a concave upper surface. The underside of the bowl has a moulded rectangular ridge which leads to the stem.
The junction of the stem and bowl is forms a curvaceous 'L' shape in profile and is off-set. The stem continues from the upper edge of the junction. Both the junction and stem are rectangular in section. The upper face of the stem is decorated with two transverse grooves and a small spur which over hangs the junction…

Fragment of a silver-gilt finger ring comprising an oval bezel, in which would have once been set a gemstone, and a small section of both shoulders. From the parts of the shoulders that are visible, the hoop appears to have had circular decoration and it is on these parts of the ring that traces of gilding can be seen. In the absence of any clear distinguishing features to suggest the ring has a dating to pre-1707, this ring is classed as not Treasure.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth Group 4, flat wing ends), Mackreth 2011, 4.a-4.b, 4c, Plate 46.
