Circumstances of discovery Found whilst searching with a metal detector on cultivated land. 85 further coins were found during the following months.
Description 881 copper alloy nummi were discovered apparently in two distinct groups separated by approximately 30cm. Most of the coins were found in-situ, whilst some were discovered in the plough soil in the immediate area however the two groups and the plough soil finds were not kept separate during the removal of the coins. It is a basic T-shape with the horizontal bar being tri-lobed and the vertical bar having a rounded end. It is not symmetrical. It appears complete and has 2 attachment hooks/studs on the back. One hook is at the top, one at the bottom.

Copper alloy purse handle or hanger from the late Medieval period.
The handle has been cast and is complete. It is almost bell shaped with a semi-circle making up the main body and the two ends curving outwards. At each end the handle narrows before reaching a molded lip. After the lip is a spherical knob which finishes each end. Purse hangers date from the medieval period onwards.
