Incomplete medieval copper alloy annular brooch, missing the tip of its pin. It is 36.4x35mm in diameter (internal hole 25mm diameter), D-shaped in section and flat on the underside. The pin is flat in section. The curved part of the brooch has been drilled with holes 2mm in diameter, one then a pair all the way around so the brooch is symmetrical along the pin line. There is a slight distance of undrilled brooch either side of the constriction for the pin. Egan and Pritchard, 1991, comment that drilled decoration on brooches does not necessarily suggest collets for stones or enamel…

A fragment from a cast copper alloy Early Medieval Small-Long Brooch. The brooch is broken midway down the bow and only middle part of the brooch survives. The arched bow is carinated at the front, convex behind and the corners are faceted. The foot originates in a flat field with a band of moulding at the top and bottom and the foot terminal is missing. Behind the foot is a complete catchplate with a length of 11.5mm and a width of 2.4mm. The surviving length of the brooch is 29.0mm, the width is 7.0mm and the weight is 3.06g.

A foot fragment from a cast copper alloy Early Medieval Anglo Saxon Small-Long Brooch. The brooch is broken above the moulded collar with three transverse lines and expands below the band to a sub-triangular foot. The foot is decorated with two vertical lines of punched dots and two transverse grooves midway down. On the back of the foot is a complete catchplate. The surviving length is 25.0mm, the maximum width is 11.2mm and the weight is 6.63g.

A copper alloy 'Eye' type brooch dating to the first century AD. The brooch possesses flat triangular wings, an overhead hook and three turns of its integral spring mechanism. The bow is D shaped in section and arched. It is separated from the foot by a horizontal rib. The foot is flat and tongue shaped with the trapezoidal catchplate extending the full length. It measures 43mm in length and a has a maximum width of 15mm.

Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch knob. A copper alloy detachable side knob from an Early Medieval brooch, probably from a cruciform brooch. It is a full round knob,with a knop, and a hole running through the centre (blocked by corrosion) for the pin bar . The knob has moulded decoration, of a single groove at the base of the head, a plain central panel, and three more grooves around the collar. The knob measures 16.78mm in length, 9.08mm in width and weighs 5.33g. There are traces of a white metal coating on the knob.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman T-shape brooch. The worn tubular wings have a slot in the centre which exposes a two turns of a copper alloy spring mechanism but the pin is missing. The bow is rectangular in section and tapers to a pointed foot. The decoration on the bow is very worn though it possibly has a central vertical decorated panel with a groove on either side. The length is 23.3mm, the width is 23.2mm and the weight is 5.13g.

Behind the rectangular head with angular wings is a semi-cylindrical moulding housing a hinged pin mechanism, though the pin is missing. Above the head is an integrally cast circular chain loop. The plain narrow and arched bow is broken at the bottom and the leg and catchplate are missing. The surviving length is 27.1mm, the width is 14.8mm and the weight is 3.64g.

A fragment of a copper-alloy brooch of probable medieval date. No parallel could be found for this unusual form, but the style of the setting and the method of pin attachment suggest that it is a variation on the well-known ring brooch series of the 13th to 15th centuries AD.
